Accused pleaded guilty to three offences under Wildlife Act Commercial Activities Regulation (B.C.) of trafficking in bear gall bladder — Accused did not have criminal background — Accused was dentist and faced some potential disciplinary proceedings before College of Dental Surgeons — Sentencing submissions made by both parties — Accused fined $150 and ordered to pay $15,000 to three separate conservation foundations — Joint submission was creative sentencing suggestion which met goals of Crown and accused, and also met goals of community in terms of dealing with this type of activity.
