The October 2013-10 Securities Newsletter features an article entitled “OSC Issues a Failing Grade for Ontario Mining Issuers”. This article discusses the results of the OSC report on its compliance review of technical reports filed by Ontario-based mining issuers. The report, OSC Staff Notice 43-705, details the findings of OSC Staff from a review of 50 technical reports filed by issuers. Those reports were selected out of a total of 460 reports filed by 238 Ontario mining issuers between June 30, 2011 and June 29, 2012. The review was focused on compliance with revisions to National Instrument 43-101 -Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects (NI 43-101) adopted in 2011. The conclusion was an "unacceptable level of compliance".
