To understand these appeals one must first gain an understanding of how the process of credentialing and privileging physicians within [the health authority] actually works, an understanding that likely is beyond the general knowledge of most people in [the province]. Garnering this understanding requires one to enter the world of health care administration, a world by turns so arcane and Byzantine that Franz Kafka might have become lost in it. But Kafka said "paths are made by walking", thus I embark upon an explanation of the factual matrix giving rise to these appeals.
